Re-applying for provisional registration
To remain registered as a teacher in Victoria, teachers in their second year of provisional registration must either complete the process to move to full registration or formally re-apply for provisional registration with the Institute before the expiry date shown on their registration card.
If you are not employed regularly in a school, or for other reasons, you may not yet be in a position to demonstrate that you have achieved the standards for full registration. If this is the case, you may re-apply for provisional registration.
If you intend to re-apply for provisional registration, you are required to complete a re-application for provisional registration using Form R. Form R: Re-application for Provisional Registration is an online form which is available in your MyVIT account.
When you submit your online re-application, you will be invoiced for an application fee to cover the costs of processing your application and a new National Criminal History Record Check if this is required. Your annual registration fee will be payable on 30 September each year.
