If you are a teacher residing overseas 

The Institute will require you to provide a certified copy of a police certificate issued by your national police service and not by local/state/provincial/county police services. The national police check will need to be supplied with your application form for registration.

For more information on qualifications for teacher registration in Victoria, read the Qualification for Teacher Registration Policies (PDF - 110 KB). These policies came into effect in November 2002, with updates approved by the Minister for Education in September 2009.

The Qualification for Teacher Registration Policy 2011 (PDF - 100KB)  will take effect from 1 January 2011.

Applicants should note that the Qualification for Teacher Registration Policy will change on 1 April 2012.

All persons applying after 1 April 2012 will be subject to the 2012 policy.
